CORDOVA GOLF CLUB
TOURNAMENT RULES
HANDICAPS: All Cordova Club tournaments, including NCGA qualifying tournaments
will be played using tournament handicaps only. Members must play a minimum of (4) four club tournaments before
receiving a tournament handicap and must have a tournament handicap in order to
qualify for tournament awards.
Handicaps will be adjusted after each completed round.
TOURNAMENTS: All tournaments shall be
played by the general rules of golf and the rules listed on the course scorecard,
except as stated by Cordova Golf Club rules.
CORDOVA GOLF CLUB RULES:
Winter rules apply to all tournaments played at Cordova. You may lift, clean and place the ball a maximum of 1 club grip
length, no closer to the hole, by 1st marking your ball and using
your hand only, to place. Use of a club
to move ball counts as a stroke.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for Zone qualifying and Trophy tournaments, members must have
played in four scheduled club tournaments in the (12) twelve month prior to the
applicable tournament. Delinquent
members who reinstate their membership after December 1st of each
year must re-qualify their eligibility.
TIES: In the event of a tie in any Trophy or Zone qualifying tournament, the winner will be determined by a sudden
death playoff.
POINTS: All tournaments played are
worth 1 point each. Extra points accumulate when your net
score is in the top 5 low net. 1st
low net receives 10 extra points, 2nd 7 pts, 3rd 5, 4th
3, and 5th low net 2 extra points.
Ties for extra points are determined by matching scorecards; last 9
holes, last 6 holes, last 3 holes, the 18th. If the winner has not been determined after
this method, then the front nine will be used in same manner as the back
nine. Bonus points will be given when your net score is below par, every
stroke below par is a bonus point.
PAIRINGS: In all 36 hole major
tournaments, pairings for the second round are made according to first round
scores with the leaders going last.
PLAYER RESONSIBILITES: If you are on the Play Every
Tournament (PET) list, you will be scheduled to play every tournament. If you are not able to play a tournament,
your cancellation must be made 48 hrs prior to scheduled tournament start time. 3 no shows and/or late cancellations will
result in removal from the PET list for the remainder of the tournament
year. Players not on the PET list will
need to notify tournament director no later than Thursday to request a start
time. Only emergency cancellations will
be allowed without fee penalty. Failing
to cancel within above parameters, will result in tournament fee and possible
green fee penalty. All penalty fees must be paid prior to or at the next
tournament being played. You can
request to be included or removed from the PET list at anytime and as often as
you wish. Must arrive 30 minutes before
start time.
